Voodoo Lab Micro Vibe
The Voodoo Lab Micro Vibe delivers the same juicy, swinging tone as an original 1968 Uni-Vibe.* Designed as a Leslie® rotating speaker simulator, the original Uni-Vibe circuit is a variation of a four-stage phase shifter. While it didn’t do so well with keyboard players, its unique sound achieved legendary status when Jimi Hendrix used the effect on his Band of Gypsys record, and his landmark Woodstock performance of “The Star Spangled Banner.” Numerous recordings by guitar heroes like Robin Trower, David Gilmour, and Stevie Ray Vaughan also helped make the Uni-Vibe a tone classic.
Micro Vibe includes the same sinewave oscillator, incandescent lamp, and photocells, which give the original Uni-Vibe its groovy swagger. Thanks to Voodoo Lab’s dedicated, guitar playing engineers, our Micro Vibe gives you the same lush, psychedelic colors of the original, but in an ultra-compact, pedalboard friendly 9V stompbox!
“Sounds astonishingly big… This elegant little box delivers a rich, bright sound that stands up to any we’ve heard.”
– Guitar Player Magazine
“Capable of producing a more authentic tone than other Uni-vibe copies.” – Guitar Shop

70s Warm Glow – Based on the recording style of David Gilmour, the opening clean rhythm, background slide guitar, and end lead all have a slow, deep Micro Vibe setting. There’s also a double-tracked Martin D-41 acoustic in there just for fun. Groovy, man.

Vibey Chords – Various clean and overdriven guitar tracks with Micro Vibe all blend together in this jazz/rock-based track. The end lead has a very subtle setting on the Micro Vibe just to add a bit of depth and thickness to the single-note lines.

The Lost Videos
Sometime in 1997, a few friends of Voodoo Lab got together for a “tone party” at the LA home of guitarist Joey Brasler. Players like session great Tim Pierce, Jamie Kime (Zappa plays Zappa, Michelle Branch, Jewel), Blues Saraceno (solo artist), and Randy Jacobs (Was Not Was, Boneshakers) all took turns dialing up tones on the entire Voodoo Lab stompbox line. Everything was recorded on video and the tapes were packed away for safe keeping…
Well for nearly a decade, those tapes were essentially lost until a “former” employee found one of them in a box. Unfortunately some tapes are still missing, but we made digital transfers of whatever we could find. While this footage was never meant to be the definitive demo of these products, we felt like it would be fun and educational to put them out. We hope you enjoy them and we’ll be releasing clips as we find them so stay tuned!
